Wolverhampton hotel invests £250,000 in additional improvements

AN independently owned Wolverhampton hotel is continuing with a major investment and refurbishment plan by ploughing £250,000 into redeveloping its main bar and reception area.

The Ramada Park Hall Hotel and Spa has already had over £5m invested in to it during the last five years since the current owners took over.

There are now plans for further investment in an effort to move the venue up from a 4* rating to 4* plus.

The hotel already features two restaurants, a health club & spa and extensive grounds and amenities. The new addition, to be called the Mirrors Bar, will see the entrance and ground floor transformed into a drinking and dining area with the aim being to make the surroundings more comfortable for in-house guests whilst attracting new customers to the destination bar.

Alongside the structural and interior work, the reception and new bar renovation will see collaborations with local suppliers, brewers and artists and also create a number of new jobs. The work will see a new bar area, complete with custom fit bar, new seating areas and improved navigation around the hotel lobby.

Angela Bir, who took over the hotel with her partner in 2011, said: “When we first took over the hotel there was a lot of renovation and refurbishment work to do which we have achieved to a high standard, however customer expectations and demand are forever changing in the marketplace, which is why our customer centric approach focuses on satisfying our customers’ needs. This is clearly reinforced by the addition of our new bar and reception area, creating a much improved food and drink offering in brand new surroundings.”

She said the business was benefiting from the regeneration of Wolverhampton, especialy on the events side.

“Since the start of the investment our occupancy rates have increased as have the number of weddings and conferences that we host which proves that the demand is there for a quality offering. I will always be looking to invest and improve our local community whilst bringing in guests from across the region,” she added.

The work on the new bar is scheduled to complete next month, in time for the busy festive period.

Indian businessman Ranjit Singh Power, who disappeared whilst visiting India two years ago and is now believed to have been murdered, used to run the hotel.

Police have never solved the murder, mainly because his body has never been found. However, his former business partner is being sought in relation to the apparent killing.
