Care provider creates 150 jobs with completion of £8m facility
A SHROPSHIRE care provider has created 150 new jobs with the completion of a 90-bed care home.
Coverage Care has been able to complete Montgomery House, situated in Sundorne Road, Shrewsbury, after the project was backed by an £8m finance package from Royal Bank of Scotland.
The new home is based on the former Territorial Army centre in Shrewsbury, which was demolished to make way for the new development.
The purpose-built care home has 90 en-suite bedrooms over two floors, with a third storey frontage as part of the design. It has two wings on both floors, each with its own lounge and dining area, hair salon, games room, orangery and various other shared communal rooms a private garden to the rear of the building.
Coverage Care has been providing nursing, residential and respite care services for older people and those living with dementia or a disability throughout Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin for the past 20 years.
The not-for-profit organisation has 14 homes throughout the county offering care predominantly for older people and those with age related conditions requiring nursing, residential, respite or various forms of re-ablement care, all for those living with frailty or dementia.
