How Millennials are changing the workplace and city

MILLENNIALS – the generation who came of age in the early years of the Millennium – are changing the world, and the world is learning to bend to their will.

This group of under-35s have grown up with the internet and got used to sharing everything, had at least half of their careers under austerity, and typically value experiences over possessions.

But how does this approach affect businesses, as they engage with and employ this generation, and how will the city change in the future.

TheBusinessDesk.com, in partnership with Birmingham City University and Birmingham Metropolitan College, is holding a breakfast seminar in the city centre to explore how this group of 16m people in the UK are changing how our businesses think and act.

BCU logoOur panel will examine the impact Millennials are having in the workplace, including how businesses need to change their recruitment and retention strategies.

The role of higher-level apprenticeships in developing the skills required of today’s economy to millennials’ ideas of loyalty, ambition and desire “to do something different” as they climb the career ladder will all come under the spotlight.

The event isBMET in Tuesday, November 29, at Birmingham Metropolitan College on Jennens Road. It starts at 8am with the panel discussion beginning at 8.30am, and will be finished by 10am.
