Developers get green light for major Black Country factory scheme

DEVELOPERS have secured planning permission for a new multi-million pound factory in the Black Country.

Trebor Developments will build the new factory on a 12-acre site off Popes Lane, Oldbury following consent for the scheme from Sandwell councillors.

The new 270,000 sq ft factory is being built for automotive supplier Steel and Alloy Processing, which is planning to relocate from its existing base in West Bromwich.

The company has said the new build will allow it to invest in new technologies putting it at the forefront the steel processing sector.

Following the unanimous support of the borough’s planning committee, work will start on site in January 2017.

Bob Tattrie, managing partner, for Trebor Developments, said: “The granting of planning is great news and allows us to proceed onto site in January, using our fast track development process.  We expect to see production start in autumn 2017 and are delighted to be developing this facility on behalf of Steel and Alloy.”

Trebor Developments was represented by joint marketing agents, Knight Frank and Bulleys.
