Solihull hotel moves upmarket after major refurbishment

A SOLIHULL hotel has been rebranded after undergoing a major refurbishment.

The former Holiday Inn on Homer Road, managed by Valor Hospitality Europe, has been transformed into a Crowne Plaza hotel.

The facelift has seen all 120 bedrooms at the hotel undergo an upgrade, along with the venue’s public areas.

Matt Hutchings, general manager of the hotel, said the facelift was intended to improve the appeal of the hotel to business travellers looking for somewhere well connected.

As well as its business facilities, the hotel also has a leisure offer including a swimming pool, gym, restaurant and bar with an outdoor terrace.

It is also hoping to attract day users to its leisure club, Club Moativation.

To coincide with the rebrand, the hotel has also introduced a new menu. It is also looking to capitalise on the festive season for an increase in bookings.

Brian McCarthy, managing director of Valor Hospitality Europe, said: “We felt that bringing the Crowne Plaza brand to Solihull would be the best way to enhance our offering to our customers in this region.

“The hotel is in an easy to reach location for business use and already has excellent meeting and conference facilities including 12 meeting and event rooms which can hold up to 200 people.

“This is a key offering for Crowne Plaza hotels. Once the rebrand is complete, the hotel will focus on connectivity, wellness and business needs to ensure we’re meeting the demands of our customers.”

The hotel’s existing team is being retained following the rebrand.

Valor Hospitality Europe has been operational in the UK for 18 months and manages 19 properties in its UK portfolio on behalf of investment vehicles affiliated with MCAP Global Finance.
