Birmingham Airport boosted by the launch of new flights

FLIGHTS to Cyprus from Birmingham Airport have been boosted with the launch of two new services.

Cobalt Air, the Cypriot airline, is launching a twice-weekly service to Larnaca from Birmingham. The airline is a new addition to the roster of operators using the airport.

Operating Airbus aircraft, the flights will leave Birmingham on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 5.05pm arriving at Larnaca at 11.50pm local time. The flights will arrive back into Birmingham at 4.05pm having departed Larnaca at 12.45pm.

Tom Screen, Head of Aviation, Birmingham Airport, said: “We are delighted that we have the opportunity to give passengers even more choice to visit Larnaca from their local airport.  Cobalt Air is a new international airline that has pricing similar to low cost but offers a high-end in-flight service.”

Philokypros Roussounides, Director of Corporate Affairs from Cobalt Air, added: “It is great news that we are expanding in the UK with a new service out of Birmingham.”

Larnaca, located on the southern coast of Cyprus, is a popular destination for tourists, who either want to explore the town and its 9th-century Church of Saint Lazarus or venture on to other parts of the Mediterranean island.
