Car rental firm relocates after completing land deal

A CAR and van rental business has set up base in Coventry after acquiring the site of a former car dealers.

Thrifty Car and Van Rental has relocated from a location close to Coventry Airport to the 0.85 acre site in Foleshill.

The new site, 127-139 Foleshill Road, was purchased through commercial agents D&P Holt and it will begin its relocation shortly.

Details of the deal have not been disclosed but the site had been on the market for offers in excess of £350,000.

Steve Sandford, Operations Director of Thrifty, said: “We are delighted to make the move to Foleshill Road – it’s a very busy location on one of the best used arterial roads in Coventry.”

In addition to the private hirer, the firm is also targeting the city’s business community and fleet market, especially those requiring additional vehicles during peak periods – a common occurrence with the logistics sector so prominent in the area.

“The whole team is looking forward to settling into the new location and we believe it will be a very positive move for the business,” he added.

Nick Holt, of D&P Holt, said the new location was ideal for Thrifty.

He said: “When it became clear that Thrifty would be relocating in Coventry, we helped identify this as the perfect site.

“It is the right kind of space for vehicle hire, is extremely well located and where they will be highly visible to thousands of potential customers.

“We were very pleased to assist Thrifty with the move and we wish them every success at their new location.”
