Midlands accountancy firm creates 68 new jobs to support growth

ACCOUNTANCY firm PKF Cooper Parry has announced 68 new appointments across its two Midlands offices as it embarks on a new phase of its growth.

The firm, which this month celebrates the first anniversary of its merger with Birmingham-based Clement Keys, has now created more than 100 new positions over the last 12 months.

The firm claims to be the fastest growing accountants in the UK, boosted by a series of new client wins.

The biggest area of growth has been in the audit team, where 43 new people have been recruited. There have also been additions to the audit, pensions and financial outsourcing teams.

Appointments have been made across all teams in the West Midlands, such as the recruitment of experienced deal-maker Phil Hinson, who has joined the team as director of corporate finance.

Further appointments have been made across the restructuring, wealth, corporate finance, service charge and IT solutions teams. The firm’s internal support teams have also received a boost, with new appointments to its people team and administration and payroll teams.

To support its ambitious plans, the leadership team has also been strengthened. Whilst continuing as chairman, Jeremy Bowler has taken on a new role of head of client services.

Fiona Holland joins the firm as new head of sales and marketing from Gateleys. She has a wealth of experience in developing new business and leading creative campaigns.

April Bembridge has joined the firm as head of people, with a new head of finance set to be announced shortly.

These latest appointments take the number of new posts created over the last year to 110 and keep the firm on target to exceed its target turnover of £30m for this financial year and double its market share in the West Midlands in the next two years.

Commenting on the firm’s growth, CEO Ade Cheatham said: “Our business continues to grow like crazy across all areas and this latest round of appointments now gives us over 400 (staff) who will drive the business forward over the next 12 months.”

He said the firm’s long term aim was to become a £45m turnover firm within the next three years, reaching £150m within the next 10 years.

PKF Cooper Parry is now the number one accountancy firm in the East Midlands amongst privately owned £5m to £50m businesses and has more than twice the market share of any of its competitors. It aims to double its market share in the West Midlands in the next two years.
