Top Midlands hotel and country club put up for sale

ONE of the West Midlands’ top hotels and corporate events venues has been put up for sale.

Real estate advisor Savills, on behalf of a private client, is marketing Grade II listed Nailcote Hall Hotel, Golf & Country Club in Berkswell.

Details of the asking price have not been disclosed.

The Warwickshire venue is renowned for hosting the annual British Par 3 Championship event on its nine-hole championship golf course. It regularly attracts professionals and celebrities to the tournament.

The hotel’s current owner, Rick Cressman, has made the decision to retire, having built up the hotel’s business and infrastructure to its current level.

The 49-bedroom manor house hotel dates back to the 17th Century and has been fully refurbished to a high specification, with many of its original features maintained.  Ten of the bedrooms are newly constructed.  The property also offers bars, restaurants, five function or conference rooms, a leisure club, golf course and multi-purpose golf club house.

Set within 13.5 acres (5.5 hectares) of landscaped gardens and grounds featuring a private lake, the hotel is a popular wedding venue and a luxury marquee provides facilities for larger weddings and events.

Tom Cunningham, hotels director at Savills, said: “This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a well-performing country house hotel in the picturesque Warwickshire countryside, with ease of access to major conurbations and the national motorway network.  The successful golf course and leisure facilities also mean potential investors would benefit from diverse income streams.”
