Health care company strengthens supported living services with acquisition

A HEALTH care company has strengthened its position in the supported living sector with a new acquisition.

Tracscare, which provides therapeutic residential and supported living services, has acquired six supported living services and a specialist Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) service from care provider Embrace. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Tracscare, which manages services throughout England and Wales, was advised and supported by a specialist team from Worcestershire law firm Harrison Clark Rickerbys.

The team comprised partners Charlotte Thornton-Smith, Rebecca Leask and Louise Crook, along with Helen Higginbotham.

Tracscare said the acquisition was part of an ongoing programme that has seen it focus on businesses that adopted a similar approach to commitment to quality.

In 2015 Tracscare acquired Brookdale Care, a specialist residential care provider for people with autism. As a result, it became the largest provider of support for people with autism in the sector.  In October 2016 Tracscare acquired specialist Acquired Brain Injury provider New Bridges.

Peter Battle, chief executive of Tracscare, said: “This is a very exciting acquisition for Tracscare and we were delighted to work with the Embrace team to bring this about.

“We have had huge success at helping people live more independent and fulfilled lives and the scale of Supported Living services acquired will greatly benefit our ability to develop this further. Acquiring another specialist residential ABI service will also complement our recent acquisition of New Bridges.

“These specialist services will join a family that is fully committed to the shared principles of building quality and enabling the people we support to live fulfilling lives.”

Ms Thornton-Smith, head of HCR’s health and social care team, said: “Our experience in the sector meant that we were able to offer Tracscare the level of detailed attention they needed for this important deal – I am delighted that we were able to support them in their development and we look forward to working with them again.”
