Prologis to start building after deal for Birmingham International site

Development is expected to begin this summer at a new distribution park close to Birmingham International Airport after Prologis bought the 16-acre site from U+I.

The site, which will be called Prologis Park Birmingham International, has planning permission for 310,000 sq ft.
“There is strong demand for modern industrial and logistics facilities in the West Midlands, but very little land allocated for industrial development,” said Andrew Griffiths, managing director of Prologis UK.
“We acquired the Prologis Park Birmingham International site because it is in a prime distribution location and will allow us to offer our customers the best opportunities in the West Midlands market.”
It is next to Birmingham Business Park, close to Junction 6 of the M42 and less than three miles from Birmingham International railway station and airport.
The value of the deal was not disclosed.
