Riding school saddles up for growth after new funding deal

A Staffordshire riding school is set for expansion after securing a new funding deal.

Rockstar Equitation Centre, a Cannock-based riding school, is to begin construction of a new horse manège after receiving a £50,000 business loan from HSBC.

The new manège will allow the centre to offer additional riding lessons following an increase in demand.

Serving as a controlled space to ride and train in, the facility is suitable for all equine disciplines and will cater for an additional 20 new students per month, helping the business increase turnover by 20% during the next 12 months.

Since opening in 2011, Rockstar has been officially recognised by the British Horse Society for providing a wide variety of professional, fun and enjoyable riding lessons to the public and equine industry to clients of all ages.

Kay Scott-Jarvis, owner of Rockstar Equitation Centre, said: “The loan from HSBC has been essential in ensuring we could manage the construction costs of the new manège. It will also allow us to expand on our existing clientele by offering additional lessons and continue providing the necessary skills needed for this sport.”

Steve Peart, HSBC’s Area Director for Business Banking in the Black Country & Shropshire said: “We’re delighted to support Rockstar Equitation Centre as the business expands to accommodate more lessons.”

The funding deal was arranged by Jon Ewings, one of HSBC’s Agricultural Managers in the Black Country & Shropshire region.
