Trebor targets manufacturing and logistics sectors with new 100,000 sq ft unit

Trebor Developments and funding partner, Kay Properties (Midlands), have submitted a planning application for a 102,000 sq ft speculative unit at a prime Staffordshire business park.

The announcement coincides with Trebor Developments’ presence at the MIPIM property exhibition in Cannes.

Units of such size are in high demand and there is expected to be strong interest in the unit, not least because the proposed site at the Kingswood Lakeside in Cannock is a stone’s throw away from the M6 Toll and a major junction of the main M6.

The partners have said that subject to planning permission being granted then the unit (below), which will be called Rapida, could be available for occupation during the first half of 2018.

They added that the application had been brought forward in response to the current lack of quality manufacturing distribution premises across the West Midlands.

Bob Tattrie, managing partner of Trebor Developments, said: “We are delighted to bring forward a further, major, industrial development in the Midlands and to be developing again in Cannock, following the successful opening of the Gateway Retail Park in 2016.  

“The new building will provide quality accommodation to B2 (manufacturing) or B8 (logistics) users, with its excellent access onto the adjacent motorway network and at 102,000 sq ft represents a size of accommodation that is not currently generally available right across the West Midlands.  We look forward to satisfying occupiers requirements.”

Staffordshire County Council’s economic growth leader Mark Winnington said Kingswood Lakeside was one of the county’s flagship business parks with a host of major companies, including HellermannTyton and Veolia operating there.  

“There has been a lot of activity and new development on site recently and the Trebor unit will be another welcome addition,” he said.

“We have worked with Trebor at another of our sites at Redhill in Stafford and look forward to seeing this development in Cannock completed and ready for business.  This is further demonstration of investor confidence in Staffordshire which we’re able to showcase at MIPIM.”
