LHM Media sees 47% improvement under new chair

BIRMINGHAM digital marketing agency LHM Media has seen a 47% increase in turnover over the past 12 months, and has credited the appointment of non-executive chairman and branding expert Mike Ashton as a major factor in its success.

LHM, which was founded in 2005 by Ian Hughes, Steven Lawrence and Paul McMonagle, has accrued a client base which includes Thomson Reuters, The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Everton FC, Juice Master and Carphone Warehouse.

Mr Hughes, managing director, said: “Mike is a highly experienced, award winning international marketer with a proven record of building major brands, driving profitable growth and leading change in global markets – we had to have him.”

A business consultant specialising in the creation and delivery of powerful brands and great customer experiences, Mr Ashton has extensive corporate experience, including eight years as Senior Vice President, Marketing and a member of the board of Hilton International.

Having successfully run the Hilton brand throughout the company’s UK and international operations, he was given overall responsibility for the international marketing of Hilton’s entire portfolio of brands including Hilton, Doubletree, Hilton Garden Inn and Waldorf Astoria.

“Mike has an enviable reputation and his experience is second-to-none. His knowledge and innovative approach has been an invaluable asset to LHM since he joined us at the end of last year. In that time, we’ve successfully pitched for a number of high-profile clients and seen our turnover increase by a staggering 47 per cent,” said Mr Hughes.

He added the agency now had an ambitious growth plan for the next three years.

Mr Ashton, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, said: “Sheer enthusiasm and excitement for LHM’s potential attracted me to the business when I first met the team. Prodigious growth, a voracious appetite for new ideas and an innovative approach to new business makes working with this talented, dedicated team a refreshing and thoroughly enjoyable experience.”
