Steve's early career focused on the audit of global companies. He then qualified as a chartered tax practitioner and went on to specialise in corporate restructuring along with all aspects of mergers and acquisitions. Latterly Steve has been engaged in the leadership of KPMG, serving on the boards for the UK, European and EMA firms. This has given Steve a wide range of experience with companies of various size and complexity across all geographies. This experience is now being put to use in his most recent role with KPMG, chairing the firm's Midlands practice.

In addition to KPMG, Steve has served on the Industrial Development Advisory Board, Sport England and has been retained by a number of private and public company boards.
