SETTING UP IN BUSINESS

Tax compliance - complying with all the various rules imposed by the Government - has become much more demanding over the years. Furthermore it is an ever changing scene. We can guide you through the many taxes imposed on businesses and individuals.
We believe that all taxpayers, companies, sole traders, partnerships and individuals should be broadly aware of their obligations as well as their rights, but we also believe that it is our task, on your behalf to deal with the various authorities and with much of the inevitable paperwork and detail.

BOOK-KEEPING, SECRETARIAL AND PAYROLL
Whilst we encourage clients to do as much work as possible "in house", at certain stages in the development of a business, or for reasons of confidentiality, it may be more appropriate for you to contract out certain services.
We can provide bookkeeping, secretarial and payroll services. Of course, once we recognise it is better that you should carry out these functions yourself we can assist you in finding a permanent member of staff, whether full or part-time.
We also have facilities to act as an office accommodation address, with telephone answering services.
Company secretarial work is dealt with as an adjunct to our normal corporate work.
Working with your solicitors we can provide expert assistance on matters including the financial aspects of divorce and commercial claims of all types.
This technology is constantly changing at such a rapid rate that we believe it requires advice from specialists.
However we can assist you in setting up, maintaining and developing your computerised systems, not only for the pure accounting function but covering all aspects of operating and managing your business.
We work closely with computer consultants, hardware and software suppliers, installers and maintenance firms and can act as your liaison point to ensure that you get the system and service you require at the particular stage of development of your business.
When the going gets tough you will find we believe in the "rescue culture". In line with this policy wherever practical, and of course legal, we will try to avoid your involvement in insolvency proceedings until all other avenues including informal arrangements with creditors and formal voluntary arrangements have been explored and exhausted.
We do not hold a licence to act as an insolvency practitioner, but where we feel that unfortunate circumstances warrant the assistance of such a person, we can recommend any one of a selection of licensed insolvency practitioners who will treat your case sympathetically and advise you accordingly.

Following spectacular, high profile, abuses in the 1980's and 1990's successive governments have introduced tough legislation to regulate the financial services industry. We have been providing financial services to our clients for very many years - having started long before any of today's regulations were put into place - and, as a Practice, we have always conducted investment business to the highest standards.
We are authorised to carry on investment business by the Financial Services Authority and we jealously guard this endorsement by ensuring our knowledge and procedures are always up to date.
Each client is unique and has his or her own objectives and attitude to risk. Our intimate knowledge of our clients' financial affairs and family circumstances is especially useful in guiding clients towards the optimisation of their financial aspirations.
