18th February 2010
WORLD Championship gold medal winner, Roger Black MBE, one of the country's most successful sportsmen, will be the guest speaker at the Leeds Chartered Accountants' Dinner 2010 at the Royal Armouries on Thursday 22 April.
The President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales Martin Hagen will be attending and the proceedings will be controlled by the "toastmaster with a difference", David Kendall (the bank manager from York).
The black tie event will also raise funds for St Gemma's Hospice and the Society would like to thank sponsors Ford Campbell Freedman LLP, Rensburg Sheppards and Schofield Sweeney for their generous support.
West Yorkshire Society of Chartered Accountants' President Michael Freedman said: "We are delighted that Roger is to be the guest speaker at the Leeds Dinner. His spirit and determination offer an example to those of us who are all facing our own challenges in these difficult times. The evening will be an opportunity for chartered accountants and their guests to enjoy an excellent convivial evening. I will also be offering my thoughts on how this recession will be put behind us through the efforts of the SME sector which is so vital to the local economy."
