Businesses are being invited to attend a new forum featuring inspirational speakers from the world of sport and business.

Chief executive of Leeds Rhinos, Gary Hetherington, will host the forum, and will update delegates  on the Headingley stadium development.

Keynote speaker at the Game Changers Business of Sport Forum, taking place at Aspire in Leeds on May 17, is Sophie Radcliffe; a blogger, endurance athlete, model and adventurer.

Other speakers include :

  • Peter Dodd, commercial director at Welcome Yorkshire
  • Matthew Johnson, Titleist Golf brand director
  • Jon Dutton, chief executive of the Rugby World Cup 2021
  • Jonathan Rigby, commercial director at British Cycling
  • Richard Brinkman, commercial director at global marketing agency Nielsen Sports

Each speaker will bring their own unique insight into the relationship between sport and business, from the economic impact of hosting a major international event to maximising commercial revenue in sport.

The event takes place from 12-5pm at Aspire in Leeds. It is a joint venture between Leeds marketing agency Banana Kick, Leeds Business Improvement District (LeedsBID) and TheBusinessDesk.com

Banana Kick chief executive Gary McCall said: “This is a first class line up of speakers who have a real understanding of the game changing benefits that sport and business can create. Taking place on the same day as the Leeds Sports Awards, it’s another great reminder of what sport can achieve in Leeds, Yorkshire and beyond.”

LeedsBID Chief Executive Andrew Cooper added: “We are delighted Leeds is staging this new business event which not only reinforces the important role sport plays in our city but also its impact on a broader scale.

“LeedsBID is very much an advocate of what can be achieved by bringing sectors together to work collaboratively and this forum will help to illustrate that.”

Tickets are priced at £60 +VAT.
