Kevin McCabe, the founder and chairman of global property company Scarborough Group International (SGI), will be the speaker at TheBusinessDesk.com’s first property lunch of 2018.

The event, sponsored by Bevan Brittan, will see the well-known property businessman talk about his passion and focus for the property industry which has spanned his whole career and seen him create worldwide projects of major economical significance.

McCabe began his career in the construction industry in 1964 in his home city of Sheffield and qualified as a quantity surveyor. It was in 1980 that he set up SGI, which now has many bases across the globe, including the Far East and China.

At our lunch, he will share his experience in both the real estate and leisure property sectors; as well as insights into his  financial and corporate work which sees him lead private and public organisations across the globe.

McCabe is the co-owner of Sheffield United Football Club  and his business links with China also saw him strike up a very close connection between The Blades and Chengdu. In 2010, he was honoured with an international fellowship award for his outstanding contribution to building business and sporting relations between China and Britain.

He has also received an honorary degree from The University of Sheffield for his significant personal achievements of turning the club into a property, business service and leisure company with football at its hub.

McCabe will share the details and reasoning behind the current major Northern Powerhouse real estate projects that SGI is currently leading. Three key projects in Leeds, Sheffield and Manchester will in total provide 1.1m sq ft of business space and enable the delivery of up to 10,000 news homes, also generating around 18,000 new jobs in the different regions.

McCabe is often out of the country due to his commitments overseas, so TheBusinessDesk.com is very pleased to be able to host this lunch event, which is expected to sell out.
