MARSHALL Wooldridge Ltd, the Leeds based insurance brokers, has presented a cheque for £9,600 to Martin House Children's Hospice.
The firm teamed up with the Odyssey Foundation and Newline Insurance to raise the money to support the hospice.
Martin House is the only Children's Hospice in Yorkshire and helps life limited children make the most of their short lives in a homely and loving environment where families are assured of professional medical and personal attention.
With very little funding coming from the statutory sector, Martin House is heavily dependent on private fundraising initiatives like this and are faced with an extremely challenging future to cover their running costs of £4M this year.
Ray Geary from Marshall Wooldridge said: ‘Having seen at first hand the vital care and support that Martin House gives to local children and their families, Marshall Wooldridge were keen to put something back into the community and Martin House is a charitable initiative that we wholeheartedly support and knew we had to do something to help'
