Building Briefs:

ASDA has signed a new lease at Unit 3 Vantage Point in Morley.

Property consultancy Ryden signed up the supermarket on behalf of client ING Real Estate Investment Management.

The deal sees Asda occupy a further 1,300 sq ft of warehouse space at Vantage Point, taking their total accommodation to 50,285 sq ft.

Steven Jones at Ryden said: “Asda’s interest in Unit 3 enabled them to expand their ‘Merchandising Centre of Excellence’; a mock-up shop where new store displays and layouts are put to test. Unit 3 was ideal for Asda as it sits adjacent to their existing premises at Vantage Point.”

In the second deal, financial advisers Prosperis have taken a three year lease on the building’s second floor.

Tom Brammeld, from joint leasing agents Jones Lang LaSalle, said: “These deals, which follow on from the 2,450 sq ft letting to Trend Micro completed late last year bring two further quality tenants into the building and mean that almost 4,000 sq ft of space has been let at 49a St Paul’s House within the last few months.

“Just 6,000 sq ft of space now remains in the building.”

ArtisONA RURAL building that stood empty for five years has been given a new lease of life, thanks to a group of artistic entrepreneurs.

Founders Josie Beszant, Ian Scott Massie, Sue Palin and Gaynor Pearson have refurbished the Masham building, now called ArtisON, into a studio and café space.

The centre now provides a range of arts and crafts workshops, locally sourced food, and overnight packages.

Sue Palin said: “When we were looking for a base for ArtisOn our priorities were space, location and parking. We needed a teaching space for groups, we needed it to be in Masham, accessible seven days a week and, being in a rural location, most of our customers would require parking.

“We needed the premises to be adaptable to include facilities for catering and art studio facilities and have the potential to be a warm and inspiring place to be.”
