Appointments: Williamsons welcomes trainee intake; Lowell Group hires business development director; and more

HULL-based Williamsons Solicitors has welcomed four trainee solicitors on board.

Lucy Ordidge, Stephen Orridge, Lindsey Rhodes and Emma Wells have signed a two year training contract after completing a three-year undergraduate law degree from the University of Hull and a legal practice course (LPC).

The trainees will now gain six months’ experience in four areas of law before they are fully qualified.

Bill Waddington, director at Williamsons Solicitors, said: “Emma, Lucy, Lindsey and Stephen have shown that they have got what it takes to become part of our firm.

“They are ambitious and intelligent young people who will provide high quality legal services to the local community while pursuing their own fledgling legal careers.”

DEBT purchasing specialist Lowell Group has appointed Richard Davies asLowell Group business development director.

Mr Davies has previously held senior business development positions with Barclaycard, ShopSmart.com and, most recently, Visa Europe.

In his new role, he will lead the debt acquisition side of the Leeds-based business and will be a member of the group’s executive board.

Lowell Group’s chief executive James Cornell said: “Richard is an accomplished senior executive with a wealth of business development experience in the retail and financial services sector.

“We have strong ambitions for the future and are confident that he and our growing acquisitions team will enable us to deliver those.”

NAOPLEONS Casino & Restaurant at Owlerton Stadium has appointed George Forsyth as general manager.

He brings over 30 years experience from the gaming industry to Napoleons’ parent company The A&S Leisure Group.

Mr Forsyth started his gaming career as a croupier in Stakis Casino in Aberdeen.

More recently he was instrumental in acquiring the licence for Casino 36 in Stockport, where he went on to hold the position of operations director.

Forsyth will assume overall responsibility for the Napoleons Owlerton Stadium venue in Sheffield, overseeing the casino and restaurant teams, and managing the future strategy and development of the club.
