DATONG, the Leeds-based designer and manufacturer of intelligence gathering equipment, has appointed Richard Brearley as non-executive director.

Mr Brearley has both corporate finance and regulatory experience and is currently responsible for legal and compliance at Investec. Prior to this he was a corporate partner at law firm Nabarro.

He will replace James Cook who has resigned from the board to pursue other opportunities.
