Latest Appointments: Marketing director appointed at Welcome to Yorkshire, Doncaster businessman appointed as charity chair and more

REGIONAL tourism agency, Welcome to Yorkshire, has appointed a new marketing director.

Marcus Falconer joins Welcome to Yorkshire from his position as head of marketing at outdoor adventure company, Go Ape.

Mr Falconer joins the agency on the back of its recent rebrand from The Yorkshire Tourist Board, and will be tasked with leading the marketing team to target national and international markets to promote Yorkshire as a destination.

” He’s arrived at an exciting time in the development of our national and international brand and will lead on a range of marketing initiatives including our award winning campaign ‘A long weekend in Yorkshire isn’t long enough’.”

AN executive director at a Doncaster-based property group has been appointed as regional chairman of charity, Mosaic.

Tariq Shah, a property specialist and asset manager at Vigo Group, joins the Tariq Shah, Mosaiccharitable organisation to lead its regional presence.

Mosaic, founded by the Business in the Community charity, aims to address Muslim community-based interests and issues.

The national charity aims to support young Muslims and promote leadership, teamwork and civic engagement through mentoring and volunteering in the community.

YORK-based law firm, Langleys, has appointed a health and welfare specialist to lead its new dedicated unit.

Susan McKendry joins the firm as an associate solicitor and will lead the specialist team.

Susan McKendry of LangleysIn her role at the new unit, Ms McKendry will act for people who are unable to represent themselves due to a their mental or physical state of health.

Andrew Fearn, head of private law at Langleys, said: “Sue’s appointment allows the firm to operate in a particularly niche and specialised area of the law.

“There are just a small handful of solicitors acting on behalf of the Official Solicitor in health and welfare cases outside London and we are delighted that Langleys is now one of them.”

A YOUNG Doncaster businesswoman has been appointed as senator of Junior Chamber International (JCI).

Charlotte Best of Doncaster-based business,  Atkinson Smith, takes on this senior role in the organisation and is also the current president of JCI UK and a former president of JCI Doncaster.

JCI has more than 200,000 members worldwide, and aims to improve young people’s skills by encouraging them to take part in projects and events in areas such as business or personal development.
