‘Search widened’ for new marketing chief

HEADHUNTERS are understood to have widened their search for a chief executive for Leeds City Council’s new marketing body.

TheBusinessDesk.com understands that several more candidates have been contacted to see if they are interested in applying for the job following recently held interviews for the post.

The role is believed to carry a salary of £100,000. It is not known whether in a bid to attract further candidates the salary could be increased.

Leeds City Council’s new marketing body will bring together Marketing Leeds, Financial Leeds, Locate in Leeds, Leeds Visitor Centre and Conference Leeds.

The new organisation will retain the Marketing Leeds brand and use its company structure.

Howard Kew, chief executive of Financial Leeds, and Deborah Green, chief executive of Marketing Leeds, were among the candidates interviewed for the job following the formal application and interview procedure.

The role has been advertised nationally and the interview panel was made up of representatives from Leeds City Council, Financial Leeds and Marketing Leeds as well as an independent member.
