TECHNOLOGY group Onyx has made a major investment in Yorkshire with the purchase of a data centre.

The company has bought the 22,000 sq ft centre near Rotherham to take advantage of the roll out of superfast broadband in South Yorkshire through the Digital Region project.

Teesside-based Onyx, which provides IT services to business, adds the Rotherham facility to others in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle as well as a data centre opened in North Yorkshire earlier this year.
