BUSINESS owners are being advised to ensure they are compliant with environmental regulations before new sanctions come into force.

Consultation on new environmental sanctions is expected to be completed this week by the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), which could see businesses liable to new civil sanctions for breaching regulations next April.
