Yorkshire and Chelsea merger confirmed

YORKSHIRE and Chelsea building societies have confirmed their merger, creating a building society with 2.7m members and a national network of 178 branches.

The merged society, which will be known as Yorkshire Building Society with the Chelsea Building Society name retained and operated as a separate and distinct brand within the Yorkshire, will have assets of £35bn.

The merger will be subject to approval by eligible members of both the Yorkshire and Chelsea. If approved completion is expected in April next......for the full story register now for free or login below...

As a longstanding YBS member, I fail to see how I will benefit from its riding to the rescue of a stricken Chelsea. Perhaps a YBS executive could use these pages to outline actual, tangible advantages - without waffle?

How about Yorkshire BS opening a Branch office in Ilkley`s Plaza Centre? There is likely a lease up for grabs . B&B`s office looks very quiet.
