Glazing firm secures trio of contracts in the capital

Glazing specialist EYG Commercial has secured a trio of major contracts in London worth £3.5m.

The recent contract wins for the Hull-based firm include a £1.74m deal with SD Samuels (Special Projects) to provide triple-glazing window systems for two connecting hotels at Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 4 – the Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn Express Hotel.

The two hotels will have 750 bedrooms in total, are located within walking distance of the terminals and will also have direct access to the London Underground, Heathrow Express train service and nearby motorways.

The work at Heathrow follows on from a £1.2m contract last year with contractor S&T (UK) for a 620-bedroom Premier Inn development at the site.

In total the firm will fit 700 large windows and 700 spandrel panels, as well as ground floor curtain walling.

Teams from EYG are expected on site in May, by which time the business will also be working on a £1.6m contract for Errigal in Southwalk, London, on the third stage of the huge £160m Quebec Way housing development for project leaders Quadrant Construction.

Work will also be completed for McLaren Construction, which has been appointed to oversee developer Lendlease’s £45m residential development in Wandsworth, near Wimbledon.

The £218,000 contract for EYG Commercial will see teams on site between May and October to fit 42 sets of bi-folding doors on new properties, which are a mix of townhouses and apartments.

Commercial director Steve Swallow said: “It is very pleasing to have secured three major contracts in London within a matter of days of one another and is another example of how EYG is having great success in the capital.”

EYG Commercial, part of the EYG Group of businesses, has had its most successful year of business in 2016, including securing the largest single contract in its history, a £5.13m deal to glaze one of the UK’s biggest care homes for the St Monica Trust in Bristol.

EYG employs more than 300 people and has seven branches across the country.
