New judging panel unveiled as property sector tunes up for Crypt Factor

A new judging panel has been unveiled for this week’s sold out Crypt Factor as the region’s property sector tunes up for what is set to be the biggest event in the annual singing competition’s history.

The leading charity event, now in its eleventh year, takes place on Thursday at The Pavilion Elland Road. The Crypt Factor is sponsored by Bruntwood, Pinsent Masons and Gent Visick, and TheBusinessDesk.com has joined as the event’s official media partner.

Gent Visick’s Garry Howes will hand back the compère role to Alex Duckett, and form part of the judging panel at the annual singing competition, alongside Craig Burrow from Bruntwood and Dawn Allen from Pinsent Masons.  The trio will analyse the 12 singers who all work for leading companies operating within the region’s property industry.

Duckett compèred the show from 2011 to 2014, which followed him winning the competition in 2010.  The ex-Knight Frank man was forced to retire in 2015, as it coincided with the birth of his first child.  He is now in the process of launching a professional serviced office business called Gilbanks.

Howes says: “On behalf of the organising committee, we’re delighted to welcome Alex back to help make this year’s Crypt Factor a night to remember.  The 12 acts we have lined up are some of the best we’ve ever seen, and along with a few other surprises that we have in store, there’s no doubt it’s going to be a fantastic event that raises a huge amount of money for two local charities.”

Duckett added: “It’s a huge honour to be invited back to compère Crypt Factor, which has to be one of the North of England’s most successful charity events.  It’s always a superb evening, that epitomises the spirit and generosity of the region’s property industry and raises huge sums of money for good causes, so I’m thoroughly looking forward to it.”

The Leeds Fund, which is managed by Leeds Community Foundation, has been unveiled as a new beneficiary alongside St George’s Crypt.  Long term partners Tiger Tiger and Lucky Voice, as well as Candid PR continue to support the event.
