Digital grant boosts marketing agency’s growth plans

A Leeds marketing agency is launching a digital PR division and aims to double turnover after securing grant funding.

Blue Digital has its sights set on further expansion after becoming one of the first companies to receive a grant from the Digital Enterprise’s Digital Growth programme.

The scheme, which launched in February, is designed to support SMEs to invest in digital technologies or advance their digital skills as they look to scale up and grow.

Blue Digital, specialising in creative services, technical web solutions, and digital marketing, was awarded a grant to help expand its client offering with multi-channel marketing and communications experience by creating a dedicated digital PR division.

Roy Moody, director at Blue Digital, said: “We are delighted to be awarded one of the first Digital Enterprise grants to enable us to enhance our offering here at Blue Digital. The digital industry is so fast paced that it is important for us to stay ahead of the curve. Our expansion into the sector will help our clients with their technical SEO, digital marketing, content generation and social media strategies. We are thrilled to be able to grow our digital offering in order to really gain the most from their online coverage and help them succeed with their aims.”

Blue Digital aims to double its current turnover to £1.5m by 2018. The agency works for a range of clients across retail, professional services, industry and FMCG, including Country Baskets, The Ridings Shopping Centre and Morrisons.

The Digital Enterprise Programme provides firms with up to £5,000 on a match-funded basis to put towards the cost of investment in digital projects or information and communications technology. The programme is part-financed by the EU’s England European Regional Development Fund and is managed by Leeds City Council.
