Traffic management firm sold out of administration

A Dewsbury traffic management company has been acquired out of administration, saving 45 jobs at the business.

Green Light Traffic Management has been bought by Retford’s Traffic Management Services (TMS) for an undisclosed sum.

Green Light was established in 1997 by Martin Parkin and Neil Davis, to deal with temporary traffic  implementing high speed sector schemes, lane closures, road closures, diversions or temporary traffic signals.

The company experienced a “difficult” period which forced it into administration, calling in Mazars on 17 March.

Following the acquisition, it will become part of the TMS organisation.

TMS is recruiting staff to for  both Green Light Traffic Management in Dewsbury and the  TMS Retford depot.

TMS managing director Clive Hewgill said: “This is a great move for TMS to acquire Green Light Traffic Management as it complements and strengthens our position as a market leader. We have enjoyed significant growth over the last year and the acquisition forms a key part of our commitment to expand through strategic growth.

“We are also very pleased to announce our plans to recruit staff and encourage former employees to make contact with us.”

Depot managerfor Green Light TM Shane Pyle commented: “Green Light TM has been an established successful and respected TM company for many years with a dedicated loyal and professional workforce.

“Although we have endured a very difficult period, with the support of TMS we are very much back up to speed with business as usual. We are already enjoying the support of our clients, apologise for any inconvenience and look forward to many more years of service.”
