850-strong audience makes Crypt Factor a night to remember

Oliver Stainsbury, Sam Jamieson, James Boothroyd, James Pank and Tom Hodgson have become the property industry’s latest singing sensations after winning last night’s Crypt Factor, which was the biggest event in the annual singing competition’s 11-year history.

A record audience of more than 850 property professionals gathered at The Pavilion at Elland Road, to cheer on 12 singers who all work for leading firms in the property industry.  The show’s organising committee and main sponsors, comprising of Bruntwood, Gent Visick and Pinsent Masons, estimate that the event raised more than £75,000 for charities St George’s Crypt and The Leeds Fund, which is managed by Leeds Community Foundation.

In addition to table sales, the money was raised through donations on the night, the auctioning of a track day with Leeds sports car manufacturer Ginetta and through karaoke pledges, after the main competition had finished, which was run by Tiger Tiger’s Lucky Voice.  Other supporters include TheBusinessDesk.com, which is the event’s official media partner, as well as Candid PR, Saville Audio Visual and Simon Dewhurst Photography.

Out of Sync were named as Crypt Factor 2017’s champion after a memorable performance of Everybody by the Back Street Boys, with Vicky Green and colleagues, who sang a Tina Turner mashup, finishing as runners-up.

Oliver from Out of Sync says: “Winning Crypt Factor has been an amazing experience.  The support that all the singers received from the audience was fantastic and it’s been a superb night.  Anyone thinking about performing at next year’s Crypt Factor, should definitely go for it because it’s great fun as well as helping to raise an unbelievable amount of money for two deserving charities.”

Organising committee member Dawn Allen from Pinsent Masons added: “We’re delighted with how Crypt Factor 2017 has gone – it was a fantastic show and Out of Sync were very deserving winners.  We successfully sold all the tables within weeks of them going on sale, which is testament to the generosity of the region’s property industry, and means we’ve raised a fantastic sum of money that will make a real difference within the local area.  We’re already planning for Crypt Factor 2018 and are currently looking for singers, who can contact us now.  Further details about next year’s event will be unveiled in the coming months.”
