Ill health forces out CEO at structural steel group

The chief executive of structural steel group Severfield is stepping down temporarily due to physical ill health.

Ian Lawson is leaving the company for a spell as he recovers from an unknown illness.

Alan Dunsmore, (pictured right) who has been with the company as financial director since 2010, will take on the role of chief executive on an interim basis.

Non-executive chairman John Dodds will take over as executive chairman on an interim basis.

Adam Semple, current group financial controller, will temporarily take on the responsibilities of finance director.

John Dodds said: “I will work closely with Alan and the wider team during this time and in the meanwhile, on behalf of the Board and everyone at Severfield, I would like to wish Ian a full and speedy recovery.”
