People: Law firm recruits department head; Expansion continues for Freeths; and more

Leeds law firm Ison Harrison has appointed Sarah Laughey to head up and help expand the family law department at its Ilkley branch.

Laughey joins the firm from Switalskis Solicitors in Bradford where she worked for 12 years.

She has more than ten years’ experience as a family solicitor after qualifying in 2007. Since 2012, Laughey has been a resolution accredited specialist covering domestic violence and private children law work.

In her new role she will undertake all types of family law work surrounding relationship and marital breakdowns, including protective injunctions, divorce, children and financial aspects.

Claire White has joined the construction team in the Leeds office of law firm Freeths.

White joins as a senior lawyer and brings with her a wealth of experience in advising clients in the retail, energy, education, local government, transport and waste sectors.

She said: “It is great to join a growing team. The Leeds office and Freeths as a whole seem progressive and wanting to invest in their staff and clients. This is an exciting career move for me and I look forward to continuing the high level of service the firm already provides.”

York-based PR and communications specialist The Partners Group has strengthened its client servicing team with the appointment of Robert Stebbings as account director following several recent account wins, including The York Dungeon and legal recruitment firm Florit Brooke.

With 15 years’ experience gained both agency and client side, Stebbings joins Partners from SEO agency WMG, having previously worked at the EVO Group and Good Relations in PR and digital marketing roles.

He will focus on fostering existing client relationships and generating new business opportunities.

Adam Reeves-Brown

Communications and public affairs specialist Counter Context has continued its recruitment drive, welcoming a PR and advertising specialist to its growing team in Sheffield.

Adam Reeves-Brown joins Counter Context from online leisure deals company Travelzoo where he worked as an associate producer for over three years. He brings commercial experience in account management, copy production and campaign analysis to his new position.

Counter Context expanded its reach in the north in 2016, opening an office in Manchester where it has a growing client base in the built environment.

As senior account manager, Reeves-Brown will head up a number of projects for clients including energy infrastructure giants DONG Energy UK, the National Grid and property developers Queensberry and Scarborough Group International.
