Coffee house finds perfect independent blend at Meadowhall
Meadowhall’s latest addition Coffika is seeing success and quickly making a name for itself by showcasing the very latest independent Sheffield-based brands to its customers.
Coffika is a passionate supporter of local independent brands, stocking popular favourites such as Our Cow Molly, #Brownies, Cocoa Wonderland, Tipple Tails and the highly sought-after Show Me Joni macarons.
Entirely independent itself, Coffika has proved a huge hit with visitors who have embraced its locally sourced ethos as much as its cosy interior and sofas.
Owner Nathan Scarlett says the team behind the new coffee house just wanted to do something different in Meadowhall and be considered the ‘coffee specialists’. He said: “Supporting these local producers is what makes us different from other coffee houses; Sheffield people know and love these brands and now they can find them all under one roof.”
In particular, #Brownies, produced by a local couple Andy Dillon & Wendy O’Brien, are delivered daily on a tray rather than mass-produced and then stored. Similarly, Our Cow Molly is brought each day by owner, Eddie Andrew.
Max Scotford, founder of Sheffield’s Bullion Chocolate, the latest addition to Coffika’s line-up, said: “Coffika is doing a fantastic job of supporting local producers and showcasing some of the best quality produce in the area. We’re incredibly excited to be working with them and to be involved in such a great collective.”
Nathan said: “These products are simple but great quality, you need a mix of both. Our initial ethos was Coffee, Cake and independent products and it seems to be working for us!”
Darren Pearce, Meadowhall Centre Director, said: “Sheffield is renowned for its fantastic independent scene and we’re delighted that Coffika have chosen to bring some of these brands to Meadowhall, it’s a great opportunity for visitors to discover some of Sheffield’s finest that they might not previously have known about.”
Coffika is situated on the Upper Arcade by the main entrance.
