New homes in Harrogate to be delivered following land sale

New homes are to be built in Harrogate following the sale of a site on Otley Road to housebuilder Conroy Brook Developments.

Keyland Developments, the property trading arm of Kelda Group and sister-company to Yorkshire Water, has agreed the sale of the land for the development of nine luxury townhouses.

Keyland received planning consent from Harrogate Borough Council for the two acre site, which is adjacent to Yorkshire Water’s clean water treatment works and close to The Pine Woods within Harrogate’s Harlow Hill residential area.

This is the third land sale Keyland has secured in the Harrogate area following successful planning consents for 46 homes on Harlow Moor Road developed by Miller Homes, and 50 houses on Cornwall Road adjacent to The Duchy Estate created by Linden Homes.

Work is expected to start on the Otley Road site in late 2017 with the first homes, designed by Edward Architecture, ready for occupation in late 2018.

Peter Garrett, managing director of Keyland Developments, said: “We are delighted to have agreed a deal with Conroy Brook for this prestigious site and we are confident that their craftsman-built homes will be the right fit for the locality. The redundant land will now be regenerated and is expected to attract strong interest from future home buyers seeking executive homes within the Harrogate area.”

Richard Conroy, chief executive at Conroy Brook, said: “This area of Harrogate represents the ideal location for the delivery of our high end homes. The exclusive development will be delivered to an exceptionally high standard and will provide a welcome addition to the housing requirements within the Harrogate area.”

Shulmans represented Conroy Brook in legals and Wrigleys Solicitors acted for Keyland.
