Planning delays fail to stump Persimmon’s “excellent” performance

Housebuilder Persimmon has said that its operational performance continues to be “excellent” in its latest update.

The company said that total forward sales revenue, including legal completions taken to date in 2017, is currently £2.5bn, around 11% higher than last year.

It said that during the year it encountered difficulties with planning delays, but has opened 67 of the 90 new sites planned for the first half of the year.

The Bullish business said that it had been buoyed by the “resilience of the UK economy”.

It said that since 2012, the Group has sold over 70,000 new homes in part by opening five new operating businesses, and investing £2.5bn in new sites.
