Car retailer creates 50 jobs with site opening

Independent vehicle retailer Motorpoint is expanding with the launch of its 12th site in Sheffield.

The Derby-based group is opening its fourth site in the last 18 months and creating 50 local jobs in the process.

They are taking over the 10-acre site of a former car supermarket close to junctions 33 and 34 of the M1. It will have space for 500 vehicles.

It follows the opening of sites in Castleform and Oldbury, as well as Birtley the year before.

Mark Carpenter, chief executive officer, commented: “I am pleased that we have opened our 12th site in what has been a busy period for the Group. Sheffield is a key demographic area and we are delighted to have generated 50 new jobs in the region.

“The recent openings are performing well, and the management team is confident that this new site will be a further successful addition to the Group’s portfolio as we deliver on our focused approach to new site openings to capture additional market share.”
