Transformation of iconic Copperworks site gets underway

Major refurbishment work to breathe new life into the former Yorkshire Copperworks site in Leeds is underway.

Home to the world-renowned metals manufacturer until 1980, the site was finally closed in 2016.

Landlord Towngate is now carrying out extensive renovation works at the 300,000 sq ft site on Haigh Park Road.

Once the refurbishment has been completed, the expansive site will be available to let as a whole to one single occupier or in part to multiple tenants.

The self-contained space will include industrial warehouse accommodation, ancillary office buildings and a modern canteen, along with 8.65 acres of expansion land and a 250-space car park.

Towngate’s property manager Tom Lamb said: “We are delighted to be able to bring this significant property to the market. We’re planning a launch of the site in the autumn when all interested parties will be given the chance to visit and tour what we believe will be a unique industrial letting opportunity.”

Renovation of The Copperworks is expected to complete in the third quarter of 2017.
