New warehouse for expanding logistics business after bank deal

Robert Hatfield with Kelvin Smith of Barclays

Logistics business Rob Hatfield, which is targeting turnover of more than £5m this year, has invested in a new warehouse after securing bank funding.

Established in 1990, the company is headquartered at Warwick Street, Hull and was set up by entrepreneur Rob Hatfield.

The business specialises in haulage, transport and storage and the new funding has supported the launch of a state of the art warehouse with increased storage space, located near the port.

Hatfield said: “I’ve been looking to expand for quite some time now and so I’m delighted that Barclays has been able to support the growth of the business with funding. We’ve already secured new contracts with the launch of the premises and its meant I can employ an additional three staff locally. Barclays has supported with a term loan which will provide the flexibility for us to continue on our growth journey.”

The company employs 45 staff.

Kelvin Smith, Barclays business relationship manager, said: “I have been working with Rob to see how we can support the expansion plans and provide the facilities to take the business to the next exciting chapter. The funding deal will provide more flexibility for the future and I am confident we will see this fast growing and ambitious business going from strength to strength. With storage facilities becoming increasingly more popular, the business is well placed to succeed in this exciting market and also contributing to the local economy.”
