Plans unveiled for job boosting mixed-use scheme in North Yorkshire

A Skipton-based developer has made an outline submission for a mixed-use development on the outskirts of Settle in North Yorkshire which it claims will promote job creation in the area.

Candelisa says plans for Anley Crag Business Park on land to the south of Settle, between the A65 and the B6480, would include more than 114,000 sq ft of business centre, hybrid units and general industrial space.

Meanwhile, an additional 23,000 sq ft is assigned for a new showroom for a leading car brand. The plans also include provision for 19 residential units with off street parking and garages.

Guy Taylor, managing director of Candelisa says: “The potential of the site is fantastic. We have analysed the local need in detail and we feel the mix and level of development is appropriate for the site and its location, and is in line with the local development plan and national planning policy.

“If the planning application is successful it will bring much needed capacity for buildings of this type in Settle, as well as significant employment benefits through the introduction of new businesses.”
Two new bus stops along the B640 and new footpath provision along the B6480 are also proposed.

Taylor added: “We are acutely aware of the outstanding natural beauty of the area and will take all necessary steps to protect this in terms of landscaping. The proposals also include careful consideration for the site and the high quality buildings will reflect the palette of local materials.”
