Law firm Freeths has announced that dispute resolution partner James Hartley has been appointed deputy managing partner of the Leeds office.

The role has been newly created to assist John May, managing Pprtner of Freeths’ Northern offices, in Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield, and to develop further the firm’s offering in the city.

It said the new role is reflective of Freeths fast growth in the North of England where the three Northern offices in the last financial year contributed just under £12m of total national turnover of £72m.

Hartley specialises in all aspects of complex commercial dispute resolution and is currently representing several hundred sub-postmasters in a multi-million pound group action against Post Office Limited. He joined Freeths in 2012.

May said: ”We are pleased to announce James’ new role which is in recognition of his dedication and commitment to the firm and I am sure the team will continue to develop and grow.”
