People: Clarion boosts banking and finance team; Leeds firm expands corporate and commercial team; and more

Clarion has expanded its eight-strong banking and finance team with the appointment of Philip Dine as legal director, specialising in real estate finance.

Dine has experience of acting for both funders and borrowers with a key focus on financing commercial property portfolios, development finance transactions and working in the private rental sector.

He said: “I am really excited to be joining Clarion as I believe that my ethos of client service and being committed to getting the job done, whichever side of the fence I am on and whatever the type of transaction, fits well with the team’s approach. Clarion have established a great reputation for their expertise in banking and finance and I look forward to further strengthening the team’s growing reputation.”

Tate Chakrabarty

Leeds-based law firm Blacks Solicitors has welcomed two new starters.

The corporate and commercial team has been bolstered with the arrival of Pete Konieczko-Hansom and Tate Chakrabarty.

With nine years’ experience as a qualified solicitor, Konieczko-Hansom has worked in a variety of legal areas including commercial litigation, employment and intellectual property before focusing on corporate and commercial. He specialises in all types of corporate and commercial work including asset and share purchases or sales, commercial contracts and shareholder agreements.

Chakrabarty joins the company from a previous role as European Counsel for the E.N project and engineering industries and specialises in commercial law, with a particular focus in manufacturing contracts and intellectual property. Since qualifying in 2010 he has obtained a wealth of experience from a variety of previous roles, including acting as a consultant for companies listed on the CSE, the Sensex and the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

Debra Jackson and Mark Day, Langleys Solicitors

Langleys has boosted its family team with the appointment of newly qualified solicitor Debra Jackson.

Jackson started at Langleys as a senior paralegal more than three years ago. She has now completed her training at the firm and has joined the family unit as an assistant solicitor.

Prior to Langleys, she gained experience in family law while working in York and is a history graduate of York University.

Mark Day, head of the family law unit at Langleys, said: “We’re very pleased to welcome Debra to the team – she is a valuable addition and brings with her skills and experience to enhance the services we provide to clients.”
