100 Club Profile: Kevin O’Connor, regional managing partner RSM

Kevin O’Connor, regional managing partner RSM is a member of the Leeds Community Foundation’s 100 Club, a patronage scheme for individuals who are motivated to make a difference in Leeds. Here he discusses what he loves about the city, and why he’s involved in the foundation.

What is your favourite thing about Leeds?

I have worked here for 20 years now and I can say Leeds is a great City. From a business perspective it has a thriving community of high quality professionals and this helps to keep the wheels of commerce turning. Physically it is so compact where you can walk from one end of the city centre to the other in 20 minutes.

What is the worst thing about the city?

Not having a successful Premier League Football Team. This is so important in promoting the city globally and a city like ours should have one.

Why are you a member of Leeds Community Foundation’s 100 Club?

I served as a trustee for 9 years and was one of the first 100 Club Members. My number is 007 ( pure coincidence). The 100 Club is a simple way of helping to support the work of the foundation, keeping in touch with the community issues facing the city and also networking with like-minded people.

What community issues are important to you?

Providing all our children with a good education and helping them to achieve their best.
