Richard Flint, chief executive of Sky Betting & Gaming

Sky Betting & Gaming has signed a new, five-year lease at the Electric Works in Sheffield, taking its presence in the city to 13,862 sq ft while creating capacity for 160 staff.

Launched in 2015, the firm’s Sheffield digital hub is home to the teams that design and build the platforms and technology behind the Leeds headquartered company’s international products including Sky Bet Italia.

This is the third time the company has extended its premises in Sheffield.

Simon Ince, director of international technology, said: “We initially looked to Sheffield to help us meet our talent needs in terms of building a diverse and highly skilled workforce and this investment evidences the success of our growth plans.

“Our core reasons for staying with The Electric Works are the keen pricing, the proximity to rail, bus and parking is unbeatable and to continue to build on our existing investment in infrastructure.”

Sky Betting & Gaming was advised by Knight Frank and CPP.
