5 things to do in Yorkshire this weekend

RHS Garden Harlow Carr Flower Show
Head along to RHS Harlow Carr this weekend for the venue’s second annual flower show. Visitors will be able to browse and buy from a wide range of garden trade stands. There will be more than 40 specialist nurseries for you to pick up advice from, as well as many talks and demonstrations to enjoy. The show is open from 10am-5pm each day. Find out more here.

Everything is Possible: The York Suffragettes
Everything is Possible, taking place at York Theatre Royal, will be performed by an impressive cast of around 150 people this weekend. The play follows the story of York in 1913, when women wanted change and ordinary housewives were risking their lives to join the fight. The show will start outdoors at York Minister Piazza before moving to the stage at the theatre. Find out more here.

Leeds Armed Forces Day

Celebrate the courage and contribution of the UK’s Armed Forces both past and present this weekend. The event, which is taking place from 11am-4pm on Saturday in Millennium Square, will offer something for all ages, including a military parade through the city centre, live entertainment, fun activities like a climbing wall, arts and crafts and a shooting range. There will also be the chance to board WW2 aircrafts, suit up in military kit and see weaponry used in battle. Find out more here.

Bradfield Festival of Music
Head along to the Parish Church of St Nicholas in Sheffield this weekend for the Bradfield Festival of Music. This year will be the 20th festival since its revival in 1998 and is set to be the biggest yet, with acts from around the world coming together to perform music from many genres in the classical tradition. Leeds Waterfront Festival

This weekend marks Leeds Waterfront Festival’s 10th anniversary. The festival is spread across five miles along the canal and river and gives visitors the opportunity to enjoy learning all about the history of Armley Mills whilst enjoying a party atmosphere, with indoor and outdoor events, live music, plenty of food and drink to enjoy and late-night parties.
