30,000 sq ft York office building snapped up in major deal

A 30,000 sq ft office building in York has been acquired by a syndicate of buyers in a multi-million pound deal.

Arabesque House at Monks Cross has been bought on behalf of investors by The Helmsley Group.

Gym operator Anytime Fitness has secured a 15-year lease of Unit 3 at Arabesque House, while independent chartered accountancy firm Garbutt & Elliott is an existing occupier.

The building is divided into six units around a landscaped courtyard and has 190 car parking spaces.

Max Reeves, associate director at The Helmsley Group, said: “We are pleased to conclude this latest acquisition on behalf of our investors. The Helmsley Group has made significant investments in property in York, particularly in the last few years. This is testament to our confidence in the city’s future.”

The Helmsley Group was advised by York-based Langleys Solicitors.

James Bradley, associate solicitor at Langleys, said: “We are delighted to continue our strong working relationship with The Helmsley Group by advising on the acquisition of Arabesque House and the letting to Anytime Fitness. These transactions provide further evidence of the popularity of Monks Cross as an attractive and accessible place to locate a business.”
