Events company gets its gladrags on with Five Hats acquisition

Wakefield events business C2events has bought a collaborator, Five Hats International creating a £5m-turnover group.

The two companies have worked together since 2016 and won a two-year contract with a global pharmaceutical company together.

Now, they will join forces, adding to their expertise as specialist healthcare events businesses and bringing total staff to 19.

C2events was founded in 2004 by Cheryl Clarke, and former Eventia chairman joined the business in 2015.

Five Hats, also an international healthcare event specialist, was founded by David Waldman in 2006 and has a number of global pharma clients.

C2events has already appointed four staff in recent months and has moved to new larger offices to accommodate growth this year.

Clarke said: “With both companies being privately owned and well established in the healthcare events sector, the synergies between us were very apparent. One of the most striking factors has been the almost identical culture that we share.

“This has made working together with teams from each company very seamless. It also means that going forward all key client contacts will remain unchanged. This will ensure that we continue to deliver the exceptional service which clients of both companies have become accustomed to.”

Executive director of C2events, Mark Saxby said: “The acquisition strengthens and broadens our existing event management capabilities and services in the healthcare sector. It is in line with our 5 year strategy for C2 as part of this we will be investing in additional resource and in key areas such as training and development, compliance, ToV reporting, IT and finance systems.”

Founder and managing director of Five Hats International, David Waldman said: “Having taken the business to this point, I am very happy to be handing it over to C2events. I look forward to seeing the progress that I am certain will be made.”
