Sales set to surge to £2m at three year-old IT firm

IT automation business PowerON, which has just expanded its York HQ, will see turnover surge to £2m this year.

The company, which was launched three years ago, has now grown from turning over £128,000 in 2015, to having 30 staff and approaching the £2m mark this financial year.

PowerOn, which has offices in Lincolnshire and Surrey as well as its HQ in York, said it had won major public and private sector contracts, including with Wolverhampton Council, West Birmingham NHS Trust, Stena, Drax Group and food giant Prince.

It recently signed a lease at the 1,290 sq ft office at Stanley Harrison House in York.

Phil Mercer, solutions and services director, from PowerON said: “Steve Beaumont and I spent a year researching and developing the plan for our business before launching with just two staff in 2015. Steve is a Microsoft most valuable professional with more than 20 year’s industry experience and my background is in developing solutions practices, both globally and in the UK, to deliver successful partnerships with customers to meet their business needs.

“With teams in Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Surrey, our recent expansion into new offices in York is in response to a string of new appointments to service several more recent contract wins with British Land, GHD and Clifford Chance.

“We are also investing heavily in research and development and have an exciting new product set to launch this week at the Microsoft Inspire event in Washington DC.”

Steve Beaumont, product development director at PowerON, adds: “It’s been a successful and fast paced three years since our launch, and we plan to continue our growth and development as we carry on removing the complexity and high costs often associated with the management and implementation of IT Solutions.

“We have established a firm foothold in the market and a solid reputation for the quality and simplicity of our service, as well as offering an assured outcome to our customers. When this is combined with our upcoming product launches, it puts us in a strong position to continue growing and winning work in the public sector and also with well-known national and international businesses.”
